The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
